Ziggy - Initial Mods
A few modications were done as soon as we started working on Ziggy. The main ones are desctibed below. Sorry no pictures.
Victron Smart Shunt
The house battery in our 2010 PleasureWay is barely adequate, if that. It uses one size 24 lead acid battery of 80Ahr. That's only some 40Ahr of usable juice. In past trailers we use some 25Ahr/day on average. If the heater (fan) or ceiling fan are used heavily this goes up. Important to keep track of battery state so we don't run out or harm the battery. SO, I installed a Victron Smart Shunt. It reads current in and out of the battery and accumulated Ahr state. The read out is a cell phone app. This was installed on the ceiling of the battery compartment. Has worked well.
LED Light Bulbs
All the house light bulbs were replaced with LEDs. Much less electrical power needed than the originals. I believe all the ceiling bulbs were dimmable but the dimmer switches don't act quite right. Still a good upgrade.
LevelPro Plus
We've been leveling trailers for years. Just block up the right or left until the trailer is level side to side. Then if needed disconnect and use the tounge jack to level front to back. With a camper van there are four wheels forcing a leveling of the whole vehicle at one time. To aid this a LevelPro Plus was mounted in the TV cabinet. Could be mounted anywhere but the TV cabinet had electrical (USB) power available. The LevelPro, once calibrated, tells how much to raise each tire to be level. I'm sure this will aid in leveling.
SiriusXM for Driving
We have a SiriusXM "head" that we use at home and in the back of Ziggy. I obtained a car mount for this head to use in the driving compartment. It's now mounted and working but the tangle of wires haven't been tamed yet.
